Matt was named President of Exchange State Bank in February 2019. He joined Exchange State Bank in 2009 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2015. Matt grew up on a family farm outside of Shannon, graduating locally from Eastland High School, then Western Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He has since also graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at UW-Madison. Matt is active with many organizations throughout the community. He is a member of the Lanark Lions Club, serves on the Lanark City Park Board, and is Treasurer for the Lanark Chamber of Commerce, Old Settler’s Day Committee, and Lanark Sesquicentennial Committee. He also volunteers time as needed at Eastland High School. Matt currently resides at Lake Carroll with his wife Danielle and two young daughters. -

John came to Exchange State Bank in 1978 as a Loan Officer and Assistant Cashier. He has been a Director since 1982, Chairman of the Board since 1996, and was named President in 2009. John has beeen marrried to Yvonne since 1970. He and his wife have 5 daughters that all graduated from Eastland High School. They also have 13 grandchildren. John and his wife are farm owners in Bradford, IL and Bishop Hill, IL. John is currently involoved in Lanark Lions, TIF Advisory Board for Lanark City Council, and is a Board member of Lanark Community Foundation. He spends most of his free time at his grandchildren's activities. -

Tim came to the Exchange State Bank in 2014 as an addition to the lending team, bringing over ten years of lending experience with him. Tim uses that experience to service any loan requests, including agricultural, commercial, residential, and consumer loans. Tim earned a BA in Economics and Business Management from Knox College and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at UW-Madison, where he simultaneously earned the Executive Leadership Certificate from the Wisconsin School of Business. He is very active in the Pearl City community, serving on the Pearl City School Board, a member of the Pearl City Lions Club, helps with the Pearl City Athletic Boosters, and is an assistant coach for the Pearl City High School baseball program. He and his wife Jody reside in Pearl City with their three kids, Mason, Beckett, and Fallyn. -

Anita came to Exchange State Bank in 2009. She can help with a variety of your banking needs – from checking and savings account questions to IRA and HSA needs to Escrow account concerns. Anita is also the Compliance Officer, so she tries to make sure that we follow all of the rules and regulations necessary to provide you with sound banking practices. Anita and her husband Mark live in rural Lena where he is part of a three-generation farming operation. Anita is an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lena and enjoys volleyball and spending time with family. -

Kristin joined the Exchange State Bank team in September 2017 as part of the lending team. She serves as a loan officer and the marketing coordinator. Kristin graduated from Elmhurst College with a BS in Marketing and International Business, as well as a Spanish minor. Kristin comes to ESB with a history in the agriculture industry and a passion for promoting agriculture education. Kristin resides in Pearl City with her husband Aaron, son Daatin, and daughter Natalie. She enjoys spending her time volunteering and she currently serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Conservation and Agriculture Partners (CAP) Foundation Board, Secretary of the Stephenson County Ag Breakfast, a member of Stephenson County Young Leaders, a committee member of Pearl City Boulevard Bash, and is an active member at Zion Community Church. -

Julie Janssen was asked to join the Exchange State Bank staff in April of 2012 after teaching for 19 years. Julie started as a part-time teller for 20 months, and then transitioned to the lending team learning how to create and process loan documents. You hear her friendly, welcoming voice when you call the bank. Julie graduated with an Associate of Science degree from Highland Community College, Bachelor of Science in Education from Northern Illinois University, and graduate courses through Aurora University. On a personal note, Julie and her husband, Scott, live and farm north of Shannon. They have been blessed with three healthy children: Meredith, Ashley, and Trevor. All are involved in sports activities and are musically inclined. Julie spends much of her time carpooling to and from practice. Otherwise she is attending games, golf meets, and concerts. Disney World is her favorite place to take her family on vacation. -
Katie Reifsteck

Katie joined the Exchange State Bank team in October 2016. She has a diverse background as she worked in the health care industry for seven years, stayed at home with her children in their younger years, and was in the military for eight years prior to that. She and her husband Dan reside in Lanark with their two children, Stephen (16) and Natalie (14). Dan is still actively serving in the military, with 23+ years of duty. Katie spends much of her time volunteering. She has been a leader for Girl Scouts for nine years, she helps with the Athletic Boosters, is active with her church, is an organizer for the 5K during Shannon Homecoming, and is an avid supporter to her children in cross country, basketball, and track plus all their academics. She is also a volunteer to the military FRG. -
